Sinkhole
Modulated reverb with four-voice chorus, feedback control, and near-infinite decay capability.
The Catalinbread Sinkhole combines a reverb engine with four-voice chorus modulation and a feedback control that can push decay times toward infinity. Mix blends wet and dry (the dry path runs through an onboard preamp controlled by Vol), Verb sets decay length, Mod controls chorus rate, and Feedback simultaneously increases modulation depth and feeds the reverb back into itself.
At moderate settings it produces lush, chorus-modulated reverb suitable for ambient playing. Push the Feedback and Verb controls and it swells into self-oscillating washes that sustain indefinitely. The 160K ohm input impedance and internal preamp mean it responds well to different source signals. Runs at 100mA on 9–18V DC with a true bypass/buffer switch inside.
Built for ambient, shoegaze, and post-rock contexts where reverb needs to be an instrument, not just an effect. The feedback control is what separates it from conventional modulated reverbs—it adds a dimension of controlled chaos.
