CMAT Mods was founded by Chad Matthews and became a full-time enterprise when he began working with pedal builder Greg Blessing. Their designs focus on boutique tone using premium components and meticulous construction.

The Butah is a low-gain Bluesbreaker-style overdrive that sounds like a vintage tube amp being pushed to slight grit. The circuit lets the natural tone of your guitar shine through while adding musical harmonic content and touch sensitivity.

Controls for Drive, Level, and Tone enable everything from transparent clean boost to bluesy overdrive. The pedal sidles between boost and drive with ease, great for giving a bluesy bump or pushing your tube amp into natural overdrive. Dead quiet operation.

Built with hand-selected Switchcraft jacks, Alpha pots, Davies knobs, EH 3PDT true bypass switch, and military-grade wiring. Footprint matches Boss/Ibanez size with bright blue LED. Works on 9V battery or adapter.
