Splinter Twin
Time modulation workstation—hybrid delay manipulator spanning flanger, chorus, double-tracking, and echo.
Cosmodio Instruments' Splinter Twin takes delay line manipulation beyond traditional multi-effects territory, offering a sandbox for precise and sometimes unusual time-based effects. It's a hybrid design combining all-analog preamp, feedback paths, tone shaping, and mixing circuits with digital delay manipulation capabilities.
The pedal clones your signal, alters that clone in time, pitch, texture, phase, and feedback, then recombines it with your original for chorus, flanger, vibrato, and echo effects. Delay time ranges from 0ms to 340ms maximum, enabling everything from through-zero flanging to slapback and echo. The VOICE switch offers three options: a precise dry signal copy, a phase-inverted version, or complex multi-tap effects. Three modulation shapes (Sine, Random, and ALT) provide different movement character.
The all-analog PREAMP control adjusts input gain, while the FEEDBACK knob and dedicated FDBCK footswitch enable performative feedback manipulation. Users can select between an all-analog dry signal or a micro-delayed dry signal for through-zero effects. Relay-based smart switching supports both latching and momentary modes. Top-mounted jacks maintain a pedalboard-friendly footprint despite the pedal's extensive feature set. Requires minimum 200mA power supply.
