Constellation CV7003
Limited-run germanium multi-fuzz with military-spec OC44 transistors for richer lows.
The Constellation CV7003 is a limited-edition variant of the Constellation multi-mode germanium fuzz and booster, built around Texas Instruments CV7003 transistors -- military-spec OC44s, the same type found in early original Arbiter RangeMasters. Limited to a run of 200 units, it shares the same six-mode switching circuit as the standard Constellation.
Six voicings cover the classics: FF (Fuzz Face), VTB (Vox ToneBender), 3/2 (Tone Bender Mk 1.5), 2 (Tone Bender MkII), RM (Dallas Rangemaster treble booster), and RMFF (Rangemaster into Fuzz Face). Volume, Fuzz, Tone, and Rip (transistor bias) knobs give full control over the character of each mode.
Compared to the OC45 version, the CV7003 delivers a slightly denser, fuller tone with more pronounced low end, making it the optimal choice for Rangemaster treble boost tones according to those who have compared both variants.
