Unobtainium Raw

The Unobtainium Raw is a limited-edition variant featuring hand-selected New Old Stock Mullard/Valvo-labeled OC45 germanium transistors from the 1960s in the K-side clipping section. It is the first K-type circuit to use germanium transistors, adding supernatural compression with increased gain and sustain compared to the standard version's silicon and germanium diodes.

The D-side amp voicings are also retuned: where the standard Unobtainium delivers smoother jazz and blues tones, the Raw version pushes glassier, punchier blues-rock territory. The same dual-circuit architecture, passive series effects loop, and relay-based true bypass carry over from the original.

Controls, layout, and effects loop mirror the standard Unobtainium. Built in limited quantities dependent on remaining NOS OC45 stock. Internal 18V charge pump from 9V supply provides tube-like headroom.
