Venus

The Venus is a real tube overdrive inspired by one of the most celebrated tube driver designs in pedal history. Its circuit uses a voltage booster/inverter to generate symmetrical +/-15V DC from a standard 9V supply, properly driving an ECC832 dual triode tube (half ECC83, half ECC82). The gain range spans smooth, creamy tube overdrive through high-gain distortion into gated fuzz territory.

Six controls provide comprehensive tone shaping: Drive sets the input level, Volume controls output, and Bias adjusts tube operating point from gnarly and gated (counterclockwise) to smooth and creamy (clockwise). A full 3-band EQ with Hi, Mid, and Lo knobs gives precise frequency control, with the Mid sweep particularly useful for matching mid-scooped clean amps. A Tight switch toggles between fat and tight low-frequency response.
