Phasor 201
Classic 2-stage RC phaser with FET-based circuit and single-knob simplicity.
The DOD Phasor 201 was one of the earliest commercial phaser pedals when it debuted in the 1970s. Its two-stage RC (resistor-capacitor) phase-shift circuit with FET variable resistance creates a subtle, musical sweep that doesn't overwhelm your tone.
The single-knob design couldn't be simpler—just Speed, controlling how fast the phaser sweeps. This limitation is actually a strength, as the 201's voicing was carefully tuned to sound musical across its entire range. The two-stage design produces a gentler effect than four or six-stage phasers.
The reissue adds true bypass (the original had buffered bypass) and a modern 9V DC power jack. Players who find Phase 90s too intense appreciate the 201's subtlety. It adds movement and shimmer without dramatically coloring your core tone.
