Bat
RAT circuit with switchable LM308/OP07 op-amps, 6 clipping modes, and 3-way bass switch.
Drunk Beaver is a Polish pedal company founded by Ukrainian builder Vitalii Bobrov, specializing in hot-rodded versions of classic circuits with NOS Soviet and vintage components.
The Bat takes the RAT topology and blows it wide open. Two NOS op-amps (LM308 for vintage grit, OP07 for modern clarity) pair with six clipping modes: op-amp boost, BS170 MOSFETs, NOS AAP153 germanium, 1N914 silicon, red LEDs (Turbo RAT style), and NOS Soviet D9 germanium. A 3-way Fat switch adds Stock, Fat, or Low bass voicings.
Distortion, Filter, and Volume knobs keep things simple up top while the switches underneath unlock a huge range. At just 1.7mA current draw, it barely sips power. Each op-amp and clipping combo yields a distinct voice, from clean boost through crunchy overdrive to thick, aggressive fuzz.
