Data Corrupter
Monophonic PLL harmonizer with three octave range. Synth textures from your guitar.
EarthQuaker Devices built the Data Corrupter around a phase-locked loop IC that generates synthesized harmonies. It tracks your input and creates square wave voices up to three octaves above and below.
Three voice mixer blends: Master Oscillator (harmonies up to 3 octaves up), Subharmonic (up to 3 octaves down), and Square Wave Fuzz (your fundamental, squared). The Frequency Modulator adds portamento glides or laser vibrato to the oscillators.
The PLL circuit provides instant tracking without MIDI latency. Best results come from single notes played cleanly. Chords create chaos, which some players embrace.
Inspired by the Electrax Synthax and Ray Marston's frequency synthesizer circuits. True analog synth tones without a synth.
