Mirror House
Pitch-shifting modulator built with Pile. Warped vibrato that tracks your playing.
Electronic Audio Experiments created the Mirror House with Rick Maguire of the band Pile. The goal was a modulation effect that felt alive and unpredictable without being random.
The circuit combines pitch-shifting with modulation in ways that interact with your playing dynamics. Hit a note hard and the pitch warps differently than soft notes. The result is vibrato that breathes rather than mechanically oscillates.
Controls include Depth, Rate, and a Blend that mixes wet and dry signals. An internal trimmer adjusts the pitch-shift range. At subtle settings it adds chorusing and movement. Pushed further it gets into seasick, tape-warble territory.
Not a traditional vibrato or chorus. The Mirror House creates textures that feel organic and slightly unhinged, perfect for atmospheric and experimental playing.
