Rooster (Legacy)
CV7003 germanium treble booster with three-way EQ switch. Rangemaster heritage with military-spec transistors.
Jam Pedals built the Rooster around CV7003 military-spec OC44 germanium transistors—the same heat-resistant parts used in their Fuzz Phrase. This solves the classic germanium treble booster problem: temperature drift that throws your carefully dialed tone out the window.
The circuit draws from Rangemaster, Hornsby Skewes, and Vox Booster heritage. The three-way toggle switch selects between Bass, Treble, and Mid EQ voicings—more flexibility than the original single-voicing designs that inspired it.
Level controls output. Carbon-comp resistors and tropical fish capacitors round out the vintage-correct build. The positive ground circuit requires isolated power—no daisy-chaining. Point-to-point wiring in a custom red tolex cover. This legacy model has been discontinued—if you find one, hold onto it.
