Active A/B/Y
Buffered dual amp switcher with transformer isolation. Ground loop elimination for clean routing.
JHS designed the Active A/B/Y to solve the ground loop hum and signal degradation that plague passive switchers when running multiple amplifiers. The circuit uses active buffering with output transformer isolation on one channel, eliminating the buzz that happens when two amps share the same stage power without proper grounding separation.
FET transistor switching provides completely silent operation between A, B, or Y (both) modes. The buffered input maintains signal strength across long cable runs without high-frequency loss. Independent LED indicators show which outputs are engaged—red for A, green for B.
The transformer-isolated output eliminates ground lift requirements on one channel while maintaining phase coherence. At 47mA draw, it actively drives both outputs without tone suck. Professional multi-amp routing without the noise.
