Emperor V2
Analog chorus/vibrato with BBD 3207 chip. Three waveforms, tap tempo, true stereo, expression input.
JHS designed the Emperor around a Bucket Brigade 3207 chipset to capture the warm, vintage character of classic 80s analog modulation. The circuit delivers everything from subtle sheen through convincing rotary simulation to seasick vibrato, all with analog warmth that digital can't replicate.
Version 2 builds on the 2014 V1 with enhanced capabilities. A mini toggle switches between chorus and vibrato effects. Three waveforms—sine, square, and triangle—provide distinct modulation characters. True stereo output lets you spread the effect across two amps. Tap tempo syncs modulation to your tempo. External expression pedal compatibility enables dynamic real-time control.
Volume, EQ, Speed, and Depth knobs provide intuitive access to core parameters. The EQ control shapes the modulated signal's frequency response. At 57mA draw, it powers analog BBD circuitry plus tap tempo and stereo features.
