EP-5
Echoplex preamp clone with three voicings and internal charge pump for 18-24V headroom.
Land Devices is a mysterious boutique pedal operation run out of Oakland, CA. Known for their minimalist aesthetic and refined takes on classic circuits, Land Devices has built a cult following among players seeking unique, well-crafted effects.
The EP-5 recreates the legendary Echoplex preamp circuit that became famous for the way it colored and enhanced guitar tone even without the tape delay engaged. The pedal features an internal charge pump that doubles the input voltage to 18V or 24V, providing exceptional headroom and dynamic response.
Three-position switching offers glassy, fat, and cranked voicings. The glassy setting adds sparkle to cleans, the fat position thickens single coils and dirt, while the cranked setting delivers extra gain for solos or a pushed preamp sound. The EP-5 was discontinued shortly after its release due to parts availability, making it a sought-after collector's item.
