88 Super Oscillo
Oscillating fuzz with six switches for generating chaotic, circuit-bent distortion textures.
LastGasp Art Laboratories was founded by Hirofumi Uchino in Tokyo in 1992, with roots in the experimental noise scene. After relocating to Sydney, Australia in 2005, Hiro rebuilt the entire production line from scratch, creating wildly unconventional effects championed by noise and experimental artists worldwide.
The 88 Super Oscillo Fuzz (named after Japanese WWII Zero fighter planes) is a fuzz distortion pedal with an internal oscillation system. Six front-panel switches can be configured to generate a wide range of oscillations, which then interact with the fuzz circuit to create everything from conventional distortion to complete sonic chaos.
Level and Adjust controls provide basic tone shaping, while a CV pedal input allows external control of the Adjust parameter. The design philosophy embraces unpredictability - this is a Pandora's box of circuit-bent distortion where experimentation is rewarded with sounds impossible to achieve any other way.
