Mini Octaves
Polyphonic pitch-transposer with octave up, octave down, and subtle vibrato to warm the tone.
The Mr. Black Mini Octaves is a polyphonic pitch-transposer pedal handmade in Portland, Oregon, delivering one octave above and one octave below your root note in an ultra-compact format. Unlike monophonic octave pedals that choke on chords, the Mini Octaves handles complex polyphonic playing and even distorted signals thanks to its sophisticated pitch-tracking algorithm.
Three intuitive controls—Sub (lower octave), Root (original signal), and Upper (higher octave)—each offer unity gain at 12 o'clock, full mute fully counter-clockwise, and a useful +3dB boost at maximum. This flexibility lets you blend organ-like sub-bass, shimmering upper octaves, or anything in between. A subtle built-in vibrato offsets the sometimes synthetic character of pitch-shifted signals, adding organic movement and warmth.
At just 1.85" wide and running from a standard 9V power supply, the Mini Octaves proves that polyphonic pitch-shifting doesn't require rack-mount processors or menu-diving. True bypass switching preserves your tone when disengaged.
