Earwig
1969 Big Muff Pi shrunk to pocket size. Four cascading silicon gain stages with symmetrical clipping.
The Earwig is Olinthus's take on the 1969 Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, crammed into the same 30mm × 45mm enclosure as their other micro pedals. Despite the comically small footprint, it delivers the full-sized fuzz experience.
Four cascading gain stages with silicon transistors and symmetrical clipping diodes produce the Big Muff's signature thick sustain and harmonic saturation. Two diode stages with an interstage tone stack give a wide range of fuzz voicings, from dark and bass-heavy to bright and cutting. Input impedance is 50kΩ, output 25kΩ.
Sustain, Tone, and Level controls cover the essentials. True bypass switching preserves your clean signal. Like all Olinthus pedals, the enclosure itself is the switch: hinged at the top, press below the knobs to stomp it on.
