Pillbug
Ross Compressor and Boss CS-2 lineage in the world's smallest compressor. OTA circuit, vintage squeeze.
The Pillbug is Olinthus's third entry in their micro pedal lineup, bringing OTA compression to the same 30mm × 45mm form factor. It draws inspiration from two compression classics: the 1974 Ross Compressor and the 1981 Boss CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer.
The operational transconductance amplifier circuit delivers the hallmark pedal compression sounds of the late '70s and early '80s. It thickens clean tones, adds depth to leads, and keeps chords articulate. 1MΩ input impedance and 1kΩ output impedance keep things transparent in the signal chain.
Attack controls how fast the compressor reacts: faster for smoother note-to-note leveling, slower for more pick dynamics and punch. Sustain sets how hard the compression squeezes. Level adjusts the output volume. Same hinged-enclosure switch design as the rest of the Olinthus lineup.
