Hot For Flanger
MXR 117 Flanger recreation with NOS MN3007 BBD, +/- feedback, and Waldo clock switch at 18V.
The PastFX Hot for Flanger is a compact recreation and expansion of the 1970s MXR 117 Flanger, incorporating a NOS Panasonic MN3007 BBD chip for authentic analog flanging character.
Six external controls shape the sound: Speed sets the LFO rate, Width adjusts sweep range, Manual sets fixed delay time, Regen (feedback) adds metallic resonance, Blend controls wet/dry mix, and Level adjusts output volume. A Positive/Negative feedback switch toggles between two feedback polarities. The "Waldo" clock capacitance timing switch provides a different voicing or faster clock range (Red LED = stock, Blue LED = higher clock range). A dual red/blue LFO LED gives visual feedback on modulation rate.
True bypass, 112 x 60 x 53mm (1590B) enclosure drawing 45mA at 18VDC center-negative. No battery option due to voltage requirements. Handmade in Brisbane, Australia.
