The PastFX Gallstone is a compact, feature-expanded recreation of the Electro-Harmonix Small Stone V2 (EH4800) phaser circuit, housed in a pedalboard-friendly 1590B enclosure. This true bypass operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) phaser delivers the warm, expansive sweep of the original while adding modern enhancements for greater tonal control.
A pushbutton switch selects 2 or 4 stage phasing (red LED indicates 4-stage stock mode), while an 8-way Width rotary control offers precise sweep range adjustment (position #8 activates the "Color" setting). Mix, Rate, and Feedback controls shape the core phasing character, with a Range switch toggling between stock faster sweeps (up) and slower LFO movements (down). A Voice switch selects between two feedback network variants (A/B), and an Expand toggle adds a high-Q all-pass filter for additional resonance.
Internal controls include a mini Level trimmer and Max Feedback trimmer for fine-tuning. Drawing 80mA from standard 9V DC center-negative power, the Gallstone proves that "it's small like passing a stone" while delivering expansive analog phasing. Handmade in Australia.
