New Division
EHX Clone Theory recreation with NOS MN3007 BBD, Studio compander, and 70s/80s voicing at 18V.
The PastFX New Division is a massively expanded recreation of the EHX Clone Theory stereo chorus, named after the Joy Division connection through Peter Hook's use of the original. It uses a NOS Panasonic MN3007 BBD chip running at 18VDC without any internal voltage doubler for minimal noise.
Controls include Rate, Depth, Input Level, Output Level (addressing the original's volume drop), and a Chorus/Vibe control that progressively removes dry signal until full vibrato is achieved at maximum. A Mode toggle selects Chorus or Vibrato/Flange (adding inverted feedback in VIB/Flange mode). An exclusive Studio switch engages a compander circuit for further noise reduction. An Edge switch provides the brighter character of the 1970s version. An internal 70s/80s slider switch selects between the subtle tone filtering of the MN3007 (80s) and SAD1024 (70s) circuit variants.
Red LED peak level indicator and dual-color LFO rate LED (red for vib/flange, blue for chorus). True bypass, 18VDC center-negative drawing 150mA. Stereo outputs. Handmade in Brisbane, Australia.
