The original octave fuzz used on Purple Haze and Fire. Designed by Roger Mayer in 1967 for Jimi Hendrix.
Roger Mayer designed the original Octavia in early 1967, first heard on Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze and Fire.
The circuit is an analog frequency doubler with envelope generator and amplitude modulator. Produces an octave-higher sound through electronic mirror imaging that responds to playing dynamics.
Drive, Tone, and Output controls. True hard-wire output plus two buffered outputs for long cable runs. Conventional jack placement for pedalboard integration.
