Grind Machine
Modern all-analog bass overdrive and distortion pedal featuring independent hard and soft clipping circuits with extensive tonal shaping for funk to metal tones.
The Seamoon Grind Machine is contemporary bass-focused overdrive and distortion pedal designed by Neil Jason and Ben Fulton, offering extensive control over gain structure and tonal characteristics. Unlike vintage Seamoon pedals, Grind Machine is completely new design optimized for modern bassists seeking versatility without sacrificing low-end clarity. Pedal features all-analog circuit with independent hard and soft clipping stages that can be used separately or stacked together for complex gain textures.
Grind Machine's comprehensive control set includes eight knobs and three switches, providing exceptional flexibility for sculpting overdrive and distortion tones. Blend knob is particularly crucial for bass players, allowing seamless mixing between fully clean and completely saturated signals to maintain low-end punch. Drive control sets gain amount, while Cut knob provides unique tonal shaping—turning it clockwise from 8 o'clock yields modern, brighter distortion, while starting at 2 o'clock and adjusting produces classic, darker overdrive tones. Level control manages output volume for unity gain or boost applications.
Clipping circuit architecture is pedal's defining feature. Hard Clip toggle (two-way) engages or bypasses hard clipping for aggressive, compressed distortion characteristics. Soft Clip toggle (three-way) offers more nuanced control: up position adds more distortion, center position disengages soft clipping entirely, and down position increases volume while maintaining softer clipping curves. These independent toggles allow for four distinct gain staging combinations, from clean boost to heavily saturated fuzz-like tones. User reviews praise Grind Machine's dynamic response and ability to preserve fundamental character of bass while adding harmonic content.
