Fuzz+ (Teal)
Enhanced germanium fuzz with dual footswitches, expanded tone controls, and improved power compatibility, offering traditional and raw fuzz modes with unprecedented control over vintage fuzz textures.
The Silktone Fuzz+ represents significant evolution of original Silktone Fuzz, maintaining core two-transistor germanium architecture while adding substantial practical improvements and expanded tonal capabilities. Like its predecessor, Fuzz+ uses matched NOS germanium transistors in classic Fuzz Face-inspired topology, complete with innovative Active Bias Monitor that displays precise voltage readings for consistent tone recall regardless of temperature fluctuations. Fundamental circuit remains rooted in vintage germanium design philosophy, but Fuzz+ addresses several limitations while expanding pedal's versatility.
Most significant upgrade is addition of dedicated Bass and Treble tone controls, which are uniquely integrated into cleanup circuit and therefore shape your tone before it enters fuzz stage. Bass control ranges from tight and forward when turned down to full and round when turned up, allowing precise low-end sculpting. Treble control provides subtle high-end roll-off for softer, smoother fuzz tone. These controls work in conjunction with continuously variable Bias knob and its LED meter, which guides you through full spectrum of germanium fuzz textures: gated spitty tones around 1.10v, vintage character at 2.50v, classic sweet spot at 4.50v, fat saturated fuzz at 6.50v, and sticky compressed fuzz approaching 8.00v.
Major functional improvement is addition of second footswitch that engages RAW mode. This bypass mode removes tone controls and cleanup knob from circuit entirely, delivering unadulterated raw fuzz straight from germanium transistors. This effectively gives you two distinct fuzz voices in one pedal: refined, controllable fuzz with full tone-shaping capabilities, and raw, unfiltered germanium fuzz experience. Fuzz+ includes same pickup simulator circuit as original, ensuring proper impedance interaction regardless of where you place it in signal chain. Perhaps most practical upgrade is revised power supply design: unlike original Fuzz with its positive ground architecture, Fuzz+ accepts any standard 9V DC center-negative power source and can be daisy-chained with other pedals.
