The Sinvertek Distortion No. 5 is high-gain distortion pedal based on operating principles of tube amp circuits, featuring discrete components design with carefully crafted frequency response networks. Pedal offers two distinct distortion levels - Hi-Gain and Ultra-Gain - allowing players to dial in everything from aggressive modern metal tones to classic hard rock saturation. Core circuit is built with discrete components rather than op-amps, providing more authentic tube-like response with superior touch sensitivity and dynamic response.
Tone-shaping capabilities are extensive, featuring six adjustable parameters: Volume, Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Presence. Three-way Mid Frequency Select Switch allows precise midrange sculpting, while three-way Picking Attack Select Switch adjusts pedal's response to playing dynamics. Frequency response curves designed to perfectly match tube amplifiers, eliminating harsh high frequencies while maintaining clarity and articulation. All controls utilize high-quality ALPHA potentiometers, Taiwan toggle switches, and Bakelite knobs for reliability and precise adjustment.
Distortion No. 5 includes four operation modes that dramatically expand versatility: Normal, Gain-Boost, Vol-Boost, and Gain & Vol-Boost. These modes allow separate boost of gain and volume, or both together, making pedal function effectively as two gain stages in one enclosure. In boost mode, pedal can be bypassed by double-clicking footswitch, providing quick access to clean tones. Features relay-based true bypass using high-quality electronic components.
