BC109 Fuzz
BC109 silicon fuzz with vintage Fuzz Face circuit. Aggressive, cutting fuzz tone.
The BC109 Fuzz is a Fuzz Face style circuit using piggybacked BC109 silicon transistor pairs (4 transistors total) for smoother tone and lower noise. Darkened voicing achieves germanium-like tonal qualities from stable silicon components.
Five controls plus a toggle: Volume (unity at noon), Bias (buzzy/lo-fi to clear/present), Voice (bright/articulate to smooth/syrupy), Fuzz (gain — best cranked or slightly backed off), Hot (input resistance for humbucker compatibility), and HB/SC switch optimizing the circuit for humbuckers vs single-coils. The piggybacked transistor design and adjustable input impedance address the noise, tone, and impedance issues of classic 1960s-70s fuzz circuits.
Covers early Gilmour through raw Hendrix territory. Same control layout as the 1966 Modernized. Handmade in Milwaukee. True bypass with LED.
