Rubber Soul

The Rubber Soul is a guitar preamp emulating a small British tube combo — think Vox AC30 with the normal and bright channels jumpered together, getting cutting presence from the bright channel with the beef of the normal channel. Named after the Beatles album, it's designed to capture that British Invasion sound.

Five controls provide deep tone shaping: Volume, Drive, Sag (optical compressor emulating a sagging GZ34 tube rectifier and saturated output transformer), Treble, and Bass. The 2-band EQ is transparent at noon with a wide range from mid-scooped to mid-humped. Goes from pristine clean to hot jangly to smoky ragged overdrive, and responds to pickup selection and stacked pedals like a real tube amp.
