Rust Rod
Aggressive distortion with vintage amp character. Cranked amp tones in a pedal.
The Rust Rod is based on the circa 1974 Ram's Head Big Muff Pi circuit with full-frequency response and no anemic mid scoop. Lower noise floor than original Big Muff designs, with thick, gooey sustain and a smooth old-school character rather than a hot modern voice.
Volume, Tone, and Sustain controls. The Tone knob is calibrated for optimal performance around the noon position. Sounds good no matter how you set the knobs — liquid response with toothy, aggressive distortion and rich midrange bloom. Also available as the Animals Pedal Rust Rod Fuzz, designed by Marc Ahlfs.
Mid-1970s Ram's Head Big Muff tones in a compact enclosure. Handmade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. True bypass. 9V battery or standard DC adapter.
