Silverfish
Versatile octave fuzz developed with King Buffalo's Sean McVay, offering independent fuzz and octave-up effects with 3-D upper harmonics and ring-modulated bass tones.
The Silverfish is collaborative design between Stomp Under Foot and Sean McVay, guitarist for heavy psych band King Buffalo, named after track from their album "The Burden of Restlessness." This pedal represents modern take on octave fuzz circuits, allowing fuzz and octave effects to be used individually or combined for maximum sonic flexibility.
Octave circuit truly comes alive when using neck pickup, adding almost three-dimensional quality to upper lead notes with rich harmonic overtones that seem to float above fundamental tone. Switch to bridge pickup and lower notes double up with almost ring-modulated character, creating aggressive, synthetic textures perfect for heavy riffs and psychedelic explorations. With both effects engaged, Silverfish produces massive walls of harmonically complex fuzz that range from vintage octave-up leads to modern desert rock devastation.
Built on Big Muff foundation with added octave circuitry, pedal maintains excellent note definition even at high gain settings. True bypass switching ensures your clean tone remains pristine when effect is disengaged, while NOS (New Old Stock) components provide vintage warmth and reliability. Sean McVay currently uses Silverfish in his live rig, demonstrating its ability to handle everything from subtle harmonic enhancement to full-on psychedelic mayhem. Handmade in USA with quality through-hole construction.
