El Capistan

The El Capistan recreates the entire ecosystem of vintage tape echo machines in one pedal. Three tape head configurations—Fixed, Multi, and Sliding—each with three modes cover everything from classic slapback to multi-head rhythmic patterns to the legendary Sound on Sound looping mode.

The Sliding head mode includes a 20-second tape-style looper that captures the authentic degradation characteristics of real tape loops. Splice points are settable in real-time by tapping the footswitch. Independent spring reverb adds the ambience found in classic tape echo units.

Wow & Flutter, Tape Age, Bias, Crinkle, and Low End Contour controls let you dial in everything from pristine studio echo to road-worn warble. The dTape algorithm remains among the most authentic tape emulations ever created.
