The Freaq
Double-stage boost with parametric mid (300-3400Hz), Damping, +20dB boost—18mA@9-18V, 370g, dual footswitches.
The Freaq combines two-stage booster with independent high-pass filtering and parametric midrange control, providing flexible tone-shaping impossible with simple clean boost pedals. Linear boost up to +20dB pushes amplifiers into saturation or increases signal level for solos. Two stages operate independently via dual footswitches: primary Boost stage provides clean gain, secondary Freq stage activates parametric mid control targeting specific frequencies between 300-3400Hz.
Damping control functions as high-pass filter reducing low-frequency content—useful for preventing mud when boosting into already-driven amplifiers or cutting bass for lead tones. Freq control selects midrange frequency to boost or attenuate, allowing precise targeting of frequency ranges where guitar sits in mix or cuts through band. Independent switching allows Boost alone (clean volume increase), Freq alone (EQ shaping without boost), or both together (boosted signal with frequency-specific enhancement).
Completely analog circuit, hardwire true bypass. Dimensions 94x123.5x53mm (with switches/sockets), 370g weight. Input impedance 470kΩ, output impedance 2.2Ω. 18mA current draw, 9-18V DC center-negative power. The Freaq targets players seeking flexible boost with precise frequency control, suitable for pushing tube amps, enhancing solos, or shaping midrange presence for different guitars or musical contexts without requiring separate EQ pedals.
