Varitone

Hand-built in Manchester, UK, the Varitone Stompbox faithfully recreates the classic Gibson Varitone circuit using a vintage-correct inductor coil and hand-auditioned capacitors. The audio path is 100% passive (9V battery powers LED only), using 22AWG solid core wiring throughout for minimal signal degradation.

The pedal offers 6 filter frequency selections via rotary switch, plus a Dual Voice mode that expands the tonal palette beyond the original Gibson design. The Depth control adjusts filter intensity for subtle to aggressive filtering. Because the circuit is passive, it must be placed before buffered pedals or preamps in the signal chain to function properly.

Designed to work with both single-coil and humbucker passive guitars. Delivers classic tones associated with B.B. King's Lucille (Gibson ES-355 equipped with factory Varitone) and Gretsch "nasal tone" filtering.
