Bumble Buzz
Gated octave fuzz designed with Third Man Records, replicating the tones from Jack White's Blunderbuss album with no-knobs simplicity.
The Bumble Buzz is a collaboration between Union Tube & Transistor and Jack White's Third Man Records, born from the pedal Chris Young built for White to use on his 2012 masterpiece Blunderbuss. The distinctive gated-octavia fuzz heard on "Sixteen Saltines" and the processed vocals on "I'm Shakin'" came from this very circuit.
With no knobs to fuss with, the Bumble Buzz is a straight shot to those iconic tones. It's a limited edition piece that captures the sputtering, gated octave fuzz sound that has become synonymous with Jack White's solo work.
The pedal has found its way onto the boards of notable players including Buzz Osborne of The Melvins and Kevin McKeown of Black Pistol Fire. Each unit is handmade by Chris Young in Vancouver, running on standard 9V power at just 10mA.
