Route 66
Combination pedal featuring TS808-style overdrive and compressor with bass boost and Nashville-style compression.
The Route 66 combines TS808-style overdrive with Nashville-style compression in one compact pedal. The overdrive channel uses the JRC4558 op-amp (same as the original TS808) and features Drive, Tone, and Volume controls with an added bass boost switch for increased low-end response. The compression channel provides classic optical-style compression with Comp, Tone, and Gain controls, plus a tone control on/off switch. Both effects feature independent controls and can be used separately or together for the ultimate complementary combination.
The overdrive delivers smooth and crisp breakup with significantly more output volume than a stock TS808, while the compressor adds sustain and evenness without excessive squashing. An innovative noise reduction system keeps the circuit quiet when you stop playing. Both effects benefit from V2 Series construction with die-cast aluminum housing and ultra-reliable 10 million cycle switching. Dimensions: 5" × 6" (126 × 153mm). Current draw: 15-24mA. Requires 9V DC power via battery or optional adapter. Named after the famous highway, the Route 66 became one of Visual Sound's most popular pedals before the company rebranded as Truetone in 2015. Still prized for combining two essential tones in minimal pedalboard space.
