The Badwater is Walrus Audio's all-in-one bass preamp and DI, named after Death Valley's lowest point. It combines optical compression, overdrive, and four-band EQ with both 1/4" and XLR outputs.
The always-on optical compressor uses a Sustain knob to add gentle compression for even dynamics. The drive section offers three voicings via toggle switch, with blend and level controls for mixing driven and clean signals. The Eras/Ages-style blend preserves low-end punch.
Four-band EQ provides +/-12dB on lows and highs, +/-10dB on low-mids and high-mids. Sweepable frequency controls (500Hz-2.4kHz for low-mid, 3.5kHz-7.5kHz for high-mid) enable surgical tone shaping. Ground lift eliminates hum. XLR and 1/4" outputs can run simultaneously. This pedal is now discontinued.
