Mira

The Mira is Walrus Audio's studio-grade optical compressor, inspired by classic LA-2A compression. Optical circuits use a photocell and light element for naturally smooth compression that responds musically to playing dynamics.

The blend control enables parallel compression—mixing dry signal with compressed signal to maintain attack and clarity while adding sustain. The high-pass filter button removes frequencies below 120Hz from the sidechain, preventing bass notes from triggering excessive compression.

Threshold, ratio, attack, release, and make-up gain provide comprehensive control over compression behavior. Running internally at ±15V provides increased headroom for clean, transparent operation. A gain-reduction LED shows compression amount. The Mira delivers studio-quality compression without the rack mount.
