Silt

The Silt is a collaboration between Walrus Audio and tube expert Jim Hagerman, featuring an actual 12AU7 vacuum tube for warm, harmonically rich fuzz tones. The tube adds organic compression and saturation that solid-state circuits can only approximate.

Harmonic mode engages a frequency doubler before the tube section, adding octave-up textures for crispy, cutting lead tones. The Contour switch selects between highpass, flat, and lowpass curves in the pre-tube EQ stage, letting you match the fuzz to different pickups and playing styles.

Volume, gain, and tone controls shape the output. The tone operates as a tilt-style control, adjusting the overall frequency balance. Running at higher voltages (9V to 12V accepted) provides extra gain and headroom. At 300mA minimum current draw, a quality isolated supply is essential.
