Bass clean boost preserving low-end frequency content. Designed for bass players needing transparent level.
JFET/germanium hybrid bass booster—the same circuit as the Phat Phuk B under an earlier production spelling. J201 JFET transistor at the input for impedance compatibility with active and passive bass pickups, feeding a hand-selected NOS germanium transistor.
Single Volume knob on the original version. Not a transparent boost—the germanium transistor deliberately adds grit and top-end sheen to the bass signal. Designed for tunings down to low B on 5-string bass and lower.
Identical circuit to the Phat Phuk B. The spelling changed between production runs but the JFET/germanium hybrid design and bass-specific voicing are the same. True hard-wire bypass, 9V battery or 2.1mm adapter.
