JFET/germanium hybrid single-circuit booster designed specifically for bass. J201 JFET transistor at the input handles impedance compatibility with both active and passive pickups, feeding a hand-selected NOS germanium transistor that adds deliberate grit and top-end sheen.

V2 version features Volume knob with carefully crafted sweep, external Bias knob for adjusting germanium voltage, and an internal slide switch selecting between stock output and phase-inverting buffered output. Not a transparent boost—the germanium stage colors the signal intentionally.

Designed for tunings down to low B on 5-string bass and lower. The JFET front end prevents impedance issues regardless of pickup type. Less than 10mA current draw, 111mm x 60mm x 31mm enclosure. True hard-wire bypass.
