Tri Pie '70
Early 1970s Triangle Big Muff recreation with smooth compression and extended sustain for classic Muff saturation.
1970 Triangle Knob Big Muff Pi recreation with classic 4-transistor topology. Wren and Cuff blind-tested multiple transistor combinations, settling on a proprietary mix of common and slightly uncommon types selected for a blend of high and lower gain characteristics.
Volume, Tone, and Sustain controls. Less saturation and less mid-scoop than modern Big Muffs, with more snarl and smoothness. Responds well to guitar volume knob rolloff, getting into overdrive territory at lower sustain settings rather than staying in full fuzz mode.
Aimed at players who want the smoother, less aggressive character of the earliest Big Muffs from circa 1970. The reduced mid-scoop helps it sit better in a band mix compared to later Muff variants. True hardwire bypass, 5mA draw, 4.8 x 2.6 x 1.6 inches, 9.5 oz.
