Basstortion

The Basstortion aims to capture the legendary overdrive of a cranked Ampeg SVT in pedal form. Based on the Distortron circuit but voiced specifically for bass, it delivers tube-amp-inspired breakup that responds to playing dynamics.

Three main controls (Volume, Tone, Drive) plus a Bright/Dark toggle switch provide straightforward tone shaping. The switch instantly toggles between cutting definition and smoother, rounded saturation. The Tone knob adjusts treble frequencies for either bite or beef.

Unlike fuzz pedals, the Basstortion aims for natural tube overdrive that cleans up with lighter playing and compresses smoothly when digging in. Some players note the lack of a blend knob for mixing clean and dirty signals, but the dynamic response partially addresses this need.
