Woolly Mammoth
Bass fuzz that preserves every sub-frequency. Designed by Chuck Zwicky, draws under 0.5mA for insane battery life.
The Woolly Mammoth is the bass player's fuzz, designed by Chuck Zwicky to preserve low-end frequencies that other fuzz circuits destroy. While equally devastating on guitar, it became legendary for giving bass players access to massive, subterranean fuzz without losing definition.
Four controls shape the sound: Output level, Wool (a unique texture control), EQ for bass/treble balance, and Pinch for gating and sputtering effects. The circuit draws an almost unbelievable 0.0004 amps, meaning a single battery can last years of normal use.
The gentle built-in gate silences hiss between notes while the Pinch control introduces velcro-like textures and synthy decay. It's become an essential tool for doom, stoner, and experimental players who need crushing fuzz without sacrificing the foundational low end.
