Spectron
DIY PCB for building a Lovetone Meatball clone - the heavily tweaked Mu-Tron III envelope filter with blend and loop.
Aion FX from Des Moines, IA has helped guitarists build studio-quality effects since 2011. They make ultra-rare discontinued effects accessible when originals sell for four-figure prices.
The Spectron recreates the Lovetone Meatball, itself a heavily tweaked version of the Mu-Tron III - the very first commercial envelope filter pedal. The Meatball added clean blend, attack/decay controls, expanded range modes, expression controls, and an effects loop to the original Mu-Tron topology.
Lovetone's hand-built pedals achieved legendary status before the company ceased production. The Meatball delivers expressive auto-wah and envelope filtering impossible with simpler designs. Original Meatballs command astronomical prices when they surface. The Aion version makes this rare circuit accessible with comprehensive documentation for builders.
