Ottawa
Optical envelope filter with HP/BP/LP modes, Q control, and touch-sensitive dynamics.
The Carl Martin Ottawa is a three-mode optical envelope filter that responds dynamically to your playing. Named playfully after Canada's capital (where politicians supposedly 'wah-wah-wah all day'), it delivers auto-wah effects without a treadle pedal.
Four knobs control Tone, Attack, Q (bandwidth), and Level. The three-way selector offers High Pass, Band Pass, and Low Pass filter modes, providing everything from funky 70s disco tones to psychedelic 60s textures. The Low Pass mode works effectively with bass guitar.
The Attack control adjusts sensitivity to your playing dynamics, from soft, subtle wah to dramatic, ear-catching sweeps. The Q control shapes bandwidth from wide and warm to narrow and sharp. Built in Carl Martin's compact format with top-mounted jacks.
