Ecstasy Red
The Ecstasy amp's high-gain red channel in pedal form. Three voicing modes from tight metal to full-spectrum saturation.
Reinhold Bogner arrived in Los Angeles in 1989 with a modded JCM 800 that Eddie Van Halen bought on the spot. The Ecstasy amplifier became the gold standard for modern high-gain versatility, its red channel delivering the searing leads and heavy rhythms that defined an era.
The Ecstasy Red pedal mirrors that channel exactly: five discrete Class-A gain stages with no op-amps or diode clipping. Three mode positions shape the character. Tight focuses the low end and pushes mids and highs. Mellow backs off the gain for a darker, smoother response. Full opens everything up for maximum saturation.
The Variac switch adds compressed dynamics, simulating a tube amp running on reduced voltage. The Structure switch accesses EQ curves from three Ecstasy generations (100, 101, 20th Anniversary). Full amp-style controls: Volume, Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass, and Boost.
Internal voltage elevation creates genuine tube-amp feel. The red channel that launched a thousand metal albums, now in pedal form.
