DD-20 Giga Delay
Twin-pedal delay with 23-second looper, 11 modes, and manual warp effects. The boss of Boss delays.
The DD-20 Giga Delay launched in 2005 as Boss's first twin-pedal format delay, offering the kind of deep editing and preset recall that previously required rack gear. Two footswitches, five presets, and a 23-second looper made it the most capable Boss delay of its era.
Eleven delay algorithms: Standard, Analog, Tape, Modulation, Reverse, Dual, SOS (Sound on Sound looper), Pattern, Warp, Twist, and +RV. Each algorithm has dedicated parameters accessible via the knobs. Five user presets store and recall complete settings, letting players switch between delay sounds mid-song.
Two footswitches handle bypass and tap tempo (or preset selection depending on the mode). The 23-second looper mode with overdub capability made the DD-20 a viable loop station before Boss released the RC series.
Produced from 2005 to around 2015, the DD-20 was the top of the Boss delay lineup before the 200/500-series format took over. Still a great value on the used market.
