Digital Delay DD-8
11-mode compact delay with Shimmer, Warp, GLT glitch, and 40-second looper. Latest compact DD.
The DD-8 expanded on the DD-7 formula in 2019, adding 11 delay modes including Shimmer (octave-up repeats), Warp (self-oscillation on demand), and GLT (glitch delay). It represents the most modes Boss has ever packed into a single-footswitch delay.
Eleven modes span practical to experimental: Standard, Tape, Analog, Looper (40 seconds), Reverse, Shimmer, Warp, +RV (delay + reverb), GLT (glitch), Vintage Digital, and Warm. Each mode has a distinct character, and the Shimmer and GLT modes push into ambient territory that the DD-7 couldn't reach.
E.Level, F.Back, D.Time, and Mode, plus a tap tempo function and external CTL input for expression pedal or tap switch. At 100mA it draws more than the DD-7, reflecting the more complex DSP. Stereo output for spatial delay applications.
The DD-8 is the endpoint of the single-footswitch Boss delay evolution: everything they've learned about delay algorithms crammed into the smallest possible format.
