FBM-1 59' Fender Bassman
Legend Series Fender 59 Bassman amp model. Captures the tweed combo that changed rock guitar.
The FBM-1 models the 1959 Fender Bassman amplifier using COSM technology, aiming to capture the tone of one of the most influential amplifiers in rock history. Part of Boss's Legend Series alongside the FDR-1 and FRV-1.
COSM modeling recreates the Bassman's preamp and power amp characteristics, including the tube compression, sag, and breakup that made the original famous. The Bassman was designed for bass but became legendary as a guitar amp, its warm overdrive influencing amp design for decades.
Gain, Tone, Level, and Presence controls mirror a simplified version of the original amp's controls. The modeling attempts to capture not just the EQ but the dynamic response: how the amp reacts to picking intensity and volume knob adjustments.
Part of Boss's early amp modeling experiments in pedal format. The FBM-1 targets players who want the 59 Bassman tone without the amp, whether for recording direct or adding Bassman character to a clean amp.
