PH-1R Phaser
Reissue of the original PH-1 phaser. Four-stage analog phasing with resonance control.
The PH-1R is the second-generation Boss phaser, adding a Resonance control to the original PH-1's Rate and Depth layout. The extra knob controls feedback within the phase circuit, intensifying the sweep for more dramatic effects.
The four-stage analog phaser circuit is carried over from the PH-1 with the resonance feedback loop added. Higher resonance settings produce a sharper, more pronounced phase sweep with an almost vocal quality. Lower settings remain smooth and subtle like the original PH-1.
Rate, Depth, and Resonance controls. At 5mA it's even more power-efficient than the PH-1. Produced from 1981 to 1985. The Resonance control is the meaningful upgrade: it transforms the phaser from a subtle coloring effect to a more assertive voice.
The PH-1R sits between the understated PH-1 and the more complex PH-2 and PH-3 that followed. For players who want classic analog phaser with adjustable intensity.
