Glitch Witch
Auto-modulated CMOS fuzz with frequency dividers producing sub-octave, bit crush, and ring mod chaos.
Cosmodio Instruments launched in 2024 from Bedford, Massachusetts with a mission to create groundbreaking analog effects that blur the boundaries between conventional and experimental. The Glitch Witch arrived as their third release, establishing them as innovators in the modern boutique scene.
At its core sits a 100% analog CMOS fuzz engine capable of massive gated tones and under-biased MKII Tone Bender grind. The real magic happens when frequency dividers integrate into the circuit, producing sub-octave, bit crush, harmonic glitch, ring modulation, pulse, strobe, and chop effects. Unlike conventional modulation, all rhythmic effects lock to subsonic divisions of your input pitch—high notes modulate faster, low notes slower, creating pitch-responsive chaos.
The dual-band tone stack (HI/LO) enables scooped mids or mid-boosts, while the GATE control adjusts pre-gain for gating or sustain. A parallel clean path with dedicated level control lets you blend fuzz and clean signals. The DIVIDE function activates alternative voices, with three styles selectable via the VOICE switch: amplitude modulation/ring-mod, frequency modulation, or pitch tracking. DIVISOR and DEPTH knobs control division rate and modulation intensity. Relay-based smart switching offers both latching and momentary modes.
